We are an interfaith, non-demoninational domestic temple located in Charleston SC, we cultivate and honor the Divine Feminine and Sacred Masculine through fellowship, song, dance, prayer, nourishment and meditation.
We practice daily prayer, weekly circles, divine dance and honoring the cycles of our bodies, our earth, and our communities. Our goal is to slow down, sense our deep gladness, share it freely and cultivate connection to the living temples across the globe.
Everyone has their own path to dance with the Sacred, and we honor ALL sacred spiritual traditions rooted in love, compassion, and justice, whose rituals and sacred texts inspire and inform the Temple -- along with a healthy dose of merry making! After all, pleasure makes the world go around.
DOMESTIC TEMPLES have been part of faith communities for centuries, led typically by Priestesses and continued by their Daughters. The tradition was forcefully removed when Catholicism came into prominence and only men were allowed to be Priests. It is now time to re-ignite this tradition ~ Divine Mother is calling, and in respect for the living world, we honor her call.
WHY? We are called to celebrate creation by sharing the Divine Feminine through our bodies (our Living Temples), in our neighborhoods and communities, and through creative, artistic and engaging means that nourish people & planet. We are part of a beautiful, interconnected, non-competitive awakening into a more evolved consciousness that recognizes and honors kindness, curiosity, freedom and generosity.
TRADITIONS: Rituals are an important part of sacred dwelling. Whether it is a daily act at the exact same time, or a commitment to 20 minutes a day, carving out a time for contemplative reflection is a potent part of celebrating creation. We encourage a daily contemplative practice, a daily movement practice, a daily service practice, and mindfulness of daily nourishment to cultivate the Divine within and around us.
RITUALS MIGHT INCLUDE: calling the Sacred directions, meditation, yoga, poetry, dance, prayer, song, deep listening, temple cherishing, practicing generosity and cultivating self-awareness.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Come celebrate with us on Saturday, December 21 at our final ceremony and Temple fundraiser of the year. More information on the SCHEDULE page.
