Interested? You are invited to have a short phone call with me to discern your goals for this retreat, so that I can help curate a one-of-a-kind experience incorporating the ocean, movement, and relaxation. Let's envision personalized aspects of a retreat, like a Daily Green Smoothie, to enhance your stay.

One of my spiritual homes is Mepkin Abbey, a Trappist Monastery about 35 min north of Charleston that sits on a stunning former plantation. The Abbey has a Retreat Center I often stay at for a contemplative retreat (and highly recommend), and I have been going here regularly for 10+ years.
This year, in conjunction with their well-known Nativity Festival, I am offering a contemplative art installation for the Mepkin Abbey Creche Festival ~ the theme is Bethlehem Within. Tickets for the festival, which runs from Nov 15 - Dec 4 (but takes a break the week of Thanksgiving), will be available starting Friday, Oct 1.

“Bethlehem Within”

BE STILL & KNOW is a contemplative installation envisioned and created by Charleston resident Cathryn the Grateful. The interactive piece is an invitation to take a seat on a monk’s prayer stool, to soften into your heart and in the stillness, to remember: you are a Child of God. The Stable is open and ready to receive the Holy Family in all forms ~ all part of you. Woven with river cane bamboo and Spanish moss, Mother Earth creates a Sacred Temple, symbolizing our connection to all Creation. Gaze into Christ’s manger and experience the Holy Child. You are invited to walk through the installation in silence, take a moment in prayer, and deepen into this year’s theme: Bethlehem Within.
